The Cayman Islands are a British dependent territory consisting of three main islands with a total area of approximately 100 square miles and located about 500 miles west of Jamaica. The territory comprises the 3 islands of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman. It is considered a part of the geographic Western Caribbean Zone. The territory is a major world offshore financial centre.
